Well, so much for that

As you know from my last post, I went to a recording studio to add some flute parts into a song for an album. It was an interesting experience, but we didn't actually use anything I came up with. The recording artist, Amy Keesee, had sent me a rough demo of the song....but the actual version by the time I got there was much different than what she had sent me. The chords for a lot of the song had been changed, and most of the rests in the vocals had been taken out. (Those rests were where it would have been most feasible to add flute.) All in all, there just wasn't much use for the flute in the new version. The new version was tight though. It really sounded great. And her producer, Snow, said that he would give me a call when they needed flute for other things, so all is not lost.
I'm just glad that I made that trek to Atlanta before all of the hullabaloo about gas price gouging. My brother, Donny, told me that it was getting so bad that our governor declared that the prices could not be raised until the gas line that got busted was fixed. I paid $2.99 a gallon for premium gas (which was all that was left tonight when I got off work). But I heard that it is as high as $5.00 a gallon in Atlanta. Scary stuff.

I'm sorry I won't be able to hear your mad flute skills on a published album yet. There's always other opportunities around the corner though.
Yeah, gas prices are through the roof right now but we've got it easy compared to all the people who've been stranded for almost a week already and will be homeless probably for months to come.
