For My Uncle Don

I will miss you Uncle Don. I will miss your irreverent sense of humor. I will miss your hugs. I will miss your just being there. I will miss your always asking me if I'm getting married yet. And I will miss having you at my wedding when I finally do get married.
I know that you were in much pain, and I know that you are at peace and in much comfort now. It makes your passing much more bearable to know that, but it doesn't make it less sad, and it doesn't keep me from crying a bit.
I wish that I could have had you around forever, but that is not the way of things.
